Spanish Oregano is a widespread species in the Mediterranean basin also known by the name of Conehead Thyme. It is a perennial plant belonging to the Lamiaceae family, congener to thyme, oregano and savory with which it shares many properties.
It is the plant with the highest percentage of carvacrol and this characteristic makes it the most effective essential oil in anti-infective therapy (active both against bacteria and fungi and against viruses).
It turns out to be an excellent natural disinfectant and is also used as a food flavouring.
Internal use is reserved for adults exclusively under medical supervision.
Due to its dermocausticity, topical use requires an appropriate dilution (from 0.5 to 1%) in a base which can be made up of vegetable oils, creams or other cosmetic preparations. Avoid application on the face, mucous membranes and damaged skin.
-For food use it must be appropriately diluted (1 drop in 100 g or ml of food or drink)
