Sicilian Lemongrass hydrosol
Lemongrass natural hydrosol has a citrate scent with notes of hay and fresh grass.
It is obtained by steam distillation from plants grown in Italy using organic methods and manual harvesting.
It can be used as a natural insect repellent or added to herbal teas to give a lemony note and for its relaxing and refreshing action.
Hydrosols, or aromatic waters, are obtained, together with essential oils, by steam distillation. They contain a small quantity of essential oil together with the water-soluble substances extracted from the plant during distillation; being much less concentrated than essential oils, they are safer to use.
They can be used as
Food flavourings: added to herbal teas or other drinks, to flavor sweet or savory dishes, taken orally diluted in water.
Cosmetics: facial sprays, skin tonics, added to shampoos and creams.
