Rosalina hydrolate (Lavender tea tree)
Rosalina's natural hydrosol has a balsamic scent, similar to that of eucalyptus but lighter and floral.
- It has antibacterial, expectorant and astringent properties; excellent as a tonic for acne-prone skin, insect bites and in case of skin inflammation.
Hydrosols, or aromatic waters, are obtained, together with essential oils, by steam distillation. They contain a small quantity of essential oil together with the water-soluble substances extracted from the plant during distillation; being much less concentrated than essential oils, they are safer to use.
They can be used as
Food flavourings: added to herbal teas or other drinks, to flavor sweet or savory dishes, taken orally diluted in water.
Cosmetics: facial sprays, skin tonics, added to shampoos and creams.
